Turning Point
The moment it changed
Years ago, I lived a different lifestyle.
I found myself in relationships that God didn’t approve of. Some individuals used me, while others caused me deep pain. Despite loving deeply, an internal war raged within me. I knew deep down that it wasn’t in accordance with God’s will; He had something far better in mind for me. Despite this understanding, I still made those choices.
During a Women’s Conference, I had a pivotal moment with God. I expressed to Him my desire to end the internal conflict, to walk away from the lifestyle I was living. This marked a significant breakthrough for me.
However, old habits die hard. Despite my resolution, I found myself drawn back into another friendship that only brought more emotional turmoil. I vividly remember driving home one evening, overwhelmed with the pain caused by this new friendship.
As I drove, a song I had never heard before came on the radio. Its lyrics struck the chord within me:
“I've never heard You say:
‘What have you done for me lately? What have you done to earn my grace?’
And I've never heard You speak anything but Your love for me, anything but identity.
What a friend I've found in You, Jesus!
When no one else could keep their promise - I can always count on You”

In that moment, I felt a profound shift. “When no one else could keep their promise” … these relationships only brought disappointment and not one of them kept their promises, but Jesus remained faithful to His promises to me.
The war within me began to subside, making room for a peace far greater than anything my previous lifestyle offered.
I am His, and He is my first love once again.
